Why this material

Choose glass-filled PEEK over natural PEEK when stiffness and dimensional stability under heat matter more than surface finish or machinability. For wear and friction applications, carbon-filled PEEK is usually the better fit.

Is PEEK GF30 stronger than natural PEEK?

It's stiffer and creeps less under sustained load at temperature, but natural PEEK is tougher and machines to a cleaner edge. Which is 'stronger' depends on whether your failure mode is deflection or impact.

Can I get a tight edge finish on glass-filled PEEK?

Glass fiber at the cut edge is more abrasive and slightly rougher than natural PEEK's edge. A scraped or chamfered finish holds up well; a mirror finish isn't realistic on this grade.

Does glass-filled PEEK carry the same residual stress as natural PEEK?

Yes - see the residual stress note above. The reinforcement doesn't change how the plate was extruded.
